Private tutoring
Grades matter, but growth matters more. Our tutors are the ones we wish we'd had, and the mentors we'd choose for our own children.
Helping you succeed through private tutoring in London
CityBright is here to ensure that your child thrives in today’s changing educational landscape. The pandemic proved the power of both online and in-person private tutoring, offering students the tailored support they need to succeed. With learning difficulty diagnoses on the rise and standardised testing in decline, personalised tuition has never been more important. According to the Education Endowment Foundation, one-to-one private tuition can boost progress by up to five months. Meanwhile, the Sutton Trust reports that 30% of 11-16-year-olds in England, and 46% in London, now benefit from private tutoring. CityBright offers flexible online and in-person private London tutoring options to help your child unlock their full potential.

Private tutoring London - FAQs
How does onboarding with CityBright work?
- Via Email, Call, or Whatsapp, we take the relevant details we need in order to select the right tutor for your child.
- We hand-pick one (or more) private tutor(s) from our network that best suit the needs of your child.
- We send you an email with an overview of the tutor’s background, experience, availability and fees.
- Once you are happy to proceed with a tutor, we confirm the arrangement between both parties. They will then make contact to introduce themselves and prepare for an initial/introductory session.
What is the pricing structure?
Our pricing varies depending on the level of tutoring and the type of service you require. Prices are influenced by factors such as the tutor’s experience, subject complexity, and whether sessions are one-to-one or part of a small group. For a detailed breakdown, or to find the best option for your needs, please visit our Pricing page or contact us directly.
What is the difference between the different tutor archetypes?
Academic or Postgraduate: a high-achieving Graduate, Master’s student, PhD candidate or early-career researcher with syllabus mastery.
In-field professional: an industry expert. Think software engineer, investment analyst, journalist, research scientist or entrepreneur.
Qualified teacher: tutors with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/PGCE), achieved by completing an approved Teacher Training programme.
Do tutors work with reference to the National Curriculum?
Yes. Wherever appropriate, our tutors teach in line with the National Curriculum. We map lessons to the correct key stage and, for exam years, to the right exam board specification such as AQA, Edexcel or OCR.
What ages do you cater for?
We offer private tuition for all ages, from primary school age through to adult learners.
